2011 Workshop

Pre-Conference Workshop – 17th October 2011
SON Today - Key Learnings from Different Networks
Led by: Nokia Siemens Networks

WORKSHOP OVERVIEW:

With the roll out of LTE, networks are becoming invariably more complex with three generations of technology (2G, 3G and LTE) co-existing. Yet adding a network layer doesn’t necessarily mean adding another layer of cost. The introduction of the self-organizing network (SON), which pulls together elements such as Automated Neighbour Relations, Load Balancing and network optimization, is automating a large number of everyday tasks, making them easily repeatable and more quickly implemented. This workshop will provide insights into SON today and learnings from its deployment in different networks.

WORKSHOP HIGHLIGHTS:

• View live network simulations featuring technical deep dives
• SON Business Impact Analysis using Use Case examples
